The unnamed Master Gunnery Sergeant in charge of Cairo Station's armory was a staff non-commissioned officer. He helped the Master Chief fit into his new Mark VI armor. He was killed soon after by a squad of Elites as Covenant invaded the station.
He dies facing two Elites with a Shotgun on the Cairo Station.
Confusion over rank
There has been a great deal of confusion regarding this character's name and rank. In The Armory (Level), he is referred to as "Master Gunns" by Sergeant Major Johnson. Many interpreted this as him being a Master Sergeant with the last name "Gunns". However, "Master Gunns" is an informal address for a Master Gunnery Sergeant, and the character's name is not known. In articles he is often referred to as the unnamed Master Gunnery Sergeant; the Armory's Master Gunnery Sergeant; or "Master Gunns" (only if a direct quote from the game).
