This is the standard issue helmet that the UNSC use for the marines. It was most likely developed at the end of the year 2552 for it isn't shown in Halo:CE.
because the helmet doesnt feature a boom-mounted eyepiece, it is likely this feature was removed because it is possible to display a HUD directly onto the wearers retinas. this, however, is merely guesswork.
